about my venture

Last month I was chosen by the People to People Student Ambassador Program to represent the US on a 15 day cultural exchange program. I have dreamed of visiting that part of the world ever since I was in 2nd grade. My 2nd grade teacher was part of a teacher exchange program with New Zealand. She taught us all about New Zealand and Australia. She really impressed me with the wonderful cultures of both countries. When People to People contacted me about this opportunity, I was VERY excited. This is a once in a lifetime chance to see in person all that my teacher had shared with us.

HI...my name is Kyra Tommasi. I am 10 years old and a 4th grader at Storm Lake Elementary School in Storm Lake, IA. I am the oldest of 3 children. I have a sister who is 7 and a brother who is 4. I was born in San Antonio, TX and have also lived in North Carolina. I love to travel and have been to many states, but this would be my first trip over seas!
