about my venture
Beginnings
It all began one day when it seemed to me that the strainer in my sink looked the same as I remembered in my Grandmothers sink. Sure enough doing some patent searching I found designs all the way back in the 30's that looked pretty much the same as what we all seem to have in our sinks today. So I decided to come up with a completely different look that would not only blend with today's contemporary kitchens but enhance the kitchen appearance. Researching the current designs one common theme rang out, a cup with holes in it. So I decided I needed to come up with a design that had no visible holes!
A road less traveled
After a few dozen design iterations I finally settled on what you see today. But then the hard work started, patent applications, market testing, package design and on and on, but the real problem was lack of funding. I had almost given up on producing dSink myself and was on the verge of trying to sell the design for just royalties when I found peerbackers. What a blessing! You see the tooling for molding plastic parts is very expensive and even tho managing tooling builds has been my job, I just couldn't come up with a way to get into production with my limited finances. This is where you come in, the funding of this project will go towards building the tooling needed to produce dSink domestically! Having experienced plant closings 1st hand I am determined to make this a domestic built project. So let's get started peerbackers! Push the "Back this Project" button, you know you want to!
