My Dream

My dream is make a career and an adventure of writing stories. I didn’t always know that this is what I wanted to do, but I always knew I enjoyed writing. My desire to write goes beyond the idea of potential financial gain; I actually love writing and knowing that I’m able to entertain people with my stories. I have had several poems published and have take on the labor of love to self-publish the first novel in a projected three to four part series. Now that I’ve proved to myself that I’m a good writer, I’m ready to show the rest of the world, but I need funding.

I’d like to do an overhaul on my first book and re-present it to the public along with its sequel. I am currently working with my artist on new images and have enhanced the details of both stories. If I can get people interested in the first book and create a buzz about its sequel, I should be able to start earning enough money on my own to fund the other two installments of the series.

The Eternal Curse series is all about mysteries, destiny, struggles with good and evil in everyday life, and even supernatural forces that we may not be aware of. My story is an emotional rollercoaster of love, hate, disappointment, triumph, physical beat downs, and supernatural build-ups. My Goal

My goal is to raise $10,000. I know this seems like a lot to ask for, but I have my reasons for choosing this amount and have faith that the right provision will arrive. I chose this amount so that I wouldn’t ask for more than I actually needed, but also because I’m considering the fact that this service isn’t completely free, though it is quite remarkable and ingenious. Being the well prepared and organized person that I am, I have a back-up plan in place should I not reach my complete goal.

If I am unable to reach my full goal, but am able to raise 80% of the funds, I will continue my publishing efforts for the first book only and grant rewards. If I raise less than 80% of my goal, all funds will be returned to those who “backed,” with an amount involving a reward, and I will happily continue to write and wait for provision to come.

My Plan

For those who would like to know exactly what their money is being used for, aside from third party fees, please allow me to enlighten you. My whole campaign can be summed up in two words: Publication and Marketing.

Publication: First, I need to have my books professionally edited and published so they can shine next to all the other published works currently available to the public. Editing and publication includes, formatting, printing, binding, copyright registration, ISBN registration, online and retail sales registration and so on. This is a process that can take about 90+ days to complete and I’m attempting to do it for two books at once.

Marketing: Next, my books need to be marketed in a way that helps create a buzz about them and establishes them as legitimate and worthy of purchase. For this, I’m seeking a professional critique from Kirkus Reviews. (If you don’t know what KirKus is, PLEASE Google them). Time and money being what it is, I am only seeking a review for the first book of the series at this time. For this review to take place, I will need to pay for and complete their submission form and provide two completed galleys of my work.

Lastly, while not currently listed in my fundraising goal, I hope to develop a new fan base and distribution arena. If and when the online and one-to-one sales of my books pick up, I hope to register them for a national book fair, allowing retail establishments to stock their shelves with my works.

Summation

The first Eternal Curse novel Giovanni’s Angel is complete, but in need of a makeover. The second EC novel Battleground is also ready to be published. The third EC novel Covetous Angels has a completed outline and a first chapter, and the possible forth book (EC: Infinity) is a significant collection of detailed notes and images. My promise to my backers is that this book series will not be the end of my dream. I have outlines and chapters completed for two other stories outside of the EC Series, a manuscript for a children’s book, and have hopes of adapting screenplays for my stories as well. I even hope to be able to help other writers in the future. With your help, my dream will reach a far-off galaxy of possibilities.
