about my venture
I had my 'Aha! moment' while traveling in South America last year. For me, this project represents a dovetailing of truth and experience as a woman traveler, created with love and the intention of keeping women travelers safe.
I looked at the traditional money belt and 're imagined' it into a light, modern, minimal system of 'travel safe body bands', made exclusively for women. It had to be streamlined and effortless, form following function, with the 'travel bands' designed as travel inner wear, offering women travelers two, new travel safe solutions. As a former dancer, I wanted to create a travel safe system that was both movement friendly and 'held' to the body.
I ventured out to design prototypes and developed two distinct options for women travelers; the 'travel band' and the 'travel wing'. The 'travel band' fits over the hips, and the 'travel wing' wraps around the upper body. The 'travel safe body bands' concept arose and is offered as a set. The traveler can decide which 'travel band' to use and when.
I launched my website, got a patent pending registration, had a studio produce my first sample order and have received media coverage with; ahalife. wanderlustandlipstick, practicaltravelgear, toptravelgear, travelbelles, etc. The Dovetail travel in peace set includes; the 'travel band', the 'travel wing', the portfolio for the passport, bank cards and extra cash as well as a small carry bag. The 'daily get round' money can be kept in an across the body bag.
Travel with confidence, knowing that your travel essentials are safe and secure, concealed on the body. Enjoy the journey without worrying about your travel essentials. The 'travel bands' are great when you are out doing photography, exploring busy markets, sightseeing in and around major tourist areas and when traveling on busy trains, boats and buses.
Travel mindfully, trust your instincts and use common sense while out exploring.
