about my venture
Micro-Greens is a project of DC-based "chef-preneur" Alli Sosna. Alli has cooked in some of the DC-area's highest regarded restaurants and competed on Food Network's CHOPPED. She is currently partnering with a number of national groups to promote healthy food in schools, including the Partnership for a Healthier America, and has been to the White House twice for conversations around food access and health.
Through Micro-Greens, Chef Alli will teach kids (and their families!) how to cook and love delicious, healthy foods - all while staying in the bounds of the SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps) budget.
The money we raise will help us:
Buy aprons
Buy toques
Support food costs and menu planning costs
Pay for training the Fellows who run the program
Pay salary for two part-time workers in the program
Purchase basic equipment needs (bowls, spoons, spatulas, knives, cutting boards)
Heavy-duty kitchen equipment such as mixers
Teach 20 kids and and their families how to cook healthy on a food stamp budget

And be sure to check out our thank you rewards on the right-hand side of this page! Thanks!
