about my venture

I was chosen to be one of the student ambassadors from the People to People program to go to Australia in the summer of 2012. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, so I'm exited to be given this opportunity. For twenty days we will be traveling across Australia, learning about and experiencing the culture. We'll be able to do things like go to the Great Barrier Reef and do volenteer work. We even get to stay with a host family for a couple days learn how their every day lives are similar and yet different from ours.

I want the opportunity to go see new places, meet new people and view the world from another's perspective. During this trip I'll have the opportunity to be around exotic animals and get the chance to talk with the people who work with them. I plan on pursuing a career involving animals, so seeing and understanding what their jobs are like will hopefully give me more insight into what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I need your help to raise the funds so that I can have this once in a life time experience.  The $3,500 is half of the money needed to make the trip clear across the world to Australia.  I've managed to raise over $500 from the Holiday Bazaar  that my mom and grandmother helped me with and we are working to fundraise the other half.  With your help I can make this dream come true!
