about my venture

Being a Haitianista means that you are a designer, promoter or follower of the latest Haitian trend. I bet you didn't know there was a Haitian trend? Haitianista was created to expose the richness of Haitian culture to the world, by making available Haitian made art, accessories, sculptures, fashion and more online.

An e-commerce site will be developed to sell products all over the world. This site will also offer Haitian artists/designers the ability to have their very own virtual storefronts to sell their own items. This will have very positive effects for all:1) Exposure of up and coming Haitian artists, designers and entrepreneurs to the world. Haiti doesn't just have Wyclef Jean and Garcelle Beauvais. There are so many more artistic and creative people waiting to meet the world. And the world, in turn, will be able to buy a piece of culture.2) Through this venture jobs will be created in Haiti. As sales and demands increase online, the artists will have to hire more people to work. Essentially we are giving "a hand up and not a hand down" to Haitians. Giving people the opportunity to provide for their families and communities is the best way to sustain a country.
